When I woke up this morning I realised that my life had changed dramatically, since this time last week. Last Thursday was my third day on the Lightning Process training course. I woke on that morning full of optimism and keen to complete my training, but also feeling as if I were carrying lead weights and dragging a ball and chain. This was the sensation of struggling to attain health and freedom after nearly 10 years of restriction from the illness of ME.

The morning of the 4th October is an extremely memorable one for me because, for the first time since I completed the Lightning Process training, I fully appreciate that I am no longer 'doing ME'. I have been working extremely hard at using the Lightning Process, making sure I work through every issue that comes up for me. I have gradually got used to talking to myself! I have found the coaching to be an extremely powerful and life enhancing experience. This, above all else I learnt on the Lightning Process, has helped me to recover my confidence and my self belief. I have also found the process of reliving past experiences in order to gain a positive experience in the present, or for the future, to be an amazingly enjoyable technique to learn. I find myself recalling happy memories that had lain forgotten or that I had blocked out because they were a painful reminder of the person I had been before the ME took over. Now, it is the memories of ill health and frustration that I find easier to block out.

Today is an important day for another reason. It would have been the 10th anniversary of me becoming ill with ME. Thanks to Alastair, whose own story of recovery from ME inspired me into taking immediate action and applying to do the Lightning Process myself, I am able to celebrate this date as the day I stopped 'doing ME' and started 'doing a wonderful new life for myself'.
